CorelDRAW has
had it's Trace Bitmap feature for years. It has improved from
version
to version but it is not the answer to converting all Raster
files to clean
editable Vector files.
Through my years of experience in design and the use of CorelDRAW
I am able to convert logos that have been sent to me in poor
quality Raster format into Vector files that are clean and ready
for Silkscreen, Laser Engraving and Embroidery stitch conversion.
I have the
ability to take over where CorelTRACE leaves off and produce
a high quality Vector ready for use. I can provide the finished
Vector file to you in CDR, AI, CMX,
WMF, EPS, and CGM. If your Military group
or organization has a Logo or Patch that needs
Vectorized send it to me for a price quote today.
Let me put
my years of expertise to work for you. E-mail me your Raster logo file and
I will let you know if I can successfully convert it to Vector
for you and what the cost will be. |
The
two sample logos above were done for one of my clients George
Sebastian of
GL
Engravingost
of his customer base is military related. Here is what George
had to say about how I have been able to meet his graphic requirements.
Customer Feedback
I constantly receive images from my
clients that they want me to use on various engraving and sublimation
projects. These images must be converted to Vector for me to
be able to use them. I use CorelDRAW in my business and even
took lessons from Square One Graphics. I soon realizes it was
more cost effective to have them do the Raster to Vector conversion
then me trying to do it myself as well as trying to finding the
time to market my products.
My experience
with Jim & Square One Graphics has been awesome. The turn
around on the image conversions has been second to none. The
fees they charge for their services are well below what the graphic
design market will bare.
The quality
of the Vector images and the speed at which they supply them
to me allows me the ability to provide my clients with the highest
quality Engraved Awards, Silk Screening, Dye Sublimation and
other recognition products in a timely manner and at an affordable
price. I have given Jim at Square One Graphics the nickname of
"MAGIC MAN" because of all the magic he has
performed on the images I have sent him. I highly recommend Jim
and Square One Graphics for all your graphic needs.
Sincerely

I worked as a graphics designer for 6 years at McClellan Air
Force Base in Sacramento, CA.
During
that time I was called upon to design numerous types of graphics
for all occasions from retirements, inductions, promotions, unit
de-activations and during the closing of McClellan in 2005 I
was hired back as a private contractor to capture all the significant
events leading up to the closure of the base.
When
I completed the CD shown left it was professionally packaged
for re-sale through the McClellan Aviation Museum
in 2005.
Below you can see the inside cover and the CD label for this
Mission Completion CD. |
 |
|
The CD cover to the
right was designed to commemorated the 63 years of history at
Sacramento Air Logistics Center at McClellan AFB in Sacramento,
CA.
This
was a 3 CD set. It contained Photos, MPEG movies and a History
Wall of photos spanning the 63 years of McClellan's history. |
 |
 |
The CD cover to the left was designed
for the Chiefs Induction Ceremony held at Travis AFB in 2003.
Each
one of the newly inducted Chiefs received a personalized copy
of the CD to help look back on this prestigious event with pride. |
|
The
CD cover to the right was designed to honor the history of at
McClellan AFB from 1936 to 2001
This
CD contained MPEG movies lasting 40 minutes that captured the
history of the Sacramento Air Logistics Center from beginning
to end. |
 |
 |
The
CD cover to the left is one I designed to honor Command Chief
Master Sergeant Dan Johnson, from Travis AFB, in honor of his
retirement from U.S Air Force on October, 2002. |
The
Program Cover to the right is one I designed to be used at the
closing ceremony when McClellan AFB was
deactivated as an Air Force Base.
This
is just one of the many items I was called upon to design during
my last year as a Graphic Designer at McClellan. |
 |
 |
The
CD cover to the left was one I submitted as part of the my final
Base Closure design package.
It
was well received mainly because it captured the mission of McClellan
which was to support our our nation and our freedom.
Because
the base was ending it's career as a military base and becoming
a Sacramento County Entity we used the phrase
Honor the Past & Embrace the Future! |
|
The
image to the right was one I designed as a logo that was to be
used on the letterhead of all correspondence send out that pertained
to the closure and redevelopment of McClellan.
All
the comments I received regarding this design were very positive.
Most especially liked the Patriotic Theme of the design and the
way it captured the way the employees at McClellan felt about
their mission right up till the very end. |

Letter of Recommendation |
|
Here is two, of
many, letters I received while at McClellan AFB. |
|
June 14, 2001
Letter of Recommendation
Jim Cormier
1. In every
great organization you have many, many superb people. Amongst
them are a few rare gems which make the entire company sparkle.
Mr. Jim Cormier is one such gem. As a member of the federal Senior
Executive Service and the Director in charge of McClellan Air
Force Base, I have had the opportunity to work with thousands
of highly talented individuals. When it comes to corporate presentations,
brochures, and marketing tools, no one does it better than Mr.
Cormier.
2. While he
has been part of the McClellan support team for a number of years,
I have had the privilege of working closely and personally with
Mr. Cormier over the past year. He is a man of incredible imagination,
initiative, and creativity. When I worked with Jim to produce
a CDROM training package to present to the rest of the Air Force
on a major labor-management initiative, Mr. Cormier literally
wowed me with the highly professional and polished
final product (see samples of CD Jacket and CD Label below
this letter). Everything about the CD was top flight, from
his artistry and design of CD jacket and label, to the interactive
menu and presentation of the CD itself. My fellow commanders
and executives around the Air Force had the same reaction when
I proudly presented each of them with this outstanding tool.
Perhaps we were too good as they kept coming back for more, and
more, and more copies of his work.
3. We put his
talents to the test supporting the numerous McClellan AFB closure
celebrations and ceremonies. He proved his mettle with literally
hundreds of first class, highly professional and artistic logos,
posters, pamphlets, and the beautiful commemorative tickets to
our formal heritage dinner attended by over 1,000 Air Force and
community leaders and dignitaries. Putting 110 percent into everything
he touched, he demonstrated the uncanny ability to translate
vision into hard copy and digital artistry. Everyone raved about
the quality and professionalism of his work. After the ceremonies,
he continued to support the mission. Using his boundless imagination,
creativity and technical skills, he captured these historic closure
event and the history of McClellan on interactive CDs. He combined
digital photography, graphics, video and audio into truly beautiful,
much sought-after, and highly treasured CDs.
4. I offer
my highest and unequivocal recommendation to Mr. Jim Cormier.
He is a great team member in every regard. Indeed, like our Air
Force, Jim goes above and beyond. Thanks to him,
we completed our mission with professionalism and honor.
JAMES C. BARONE,

SUBJECT: Letter of Appreciation - Mr James Cormier, LHP Marketing
Illustration Office
1. Please convey
my thanks and appreciation to Mr. James Cormier of the LHP Marketing
Illustration Office. We have relied on his artistry and expertise
over several years on a variety of comptroller projects in support
of our logistics systems group. In every case Mr. Cormier's technical
advise and graphics wizardry have been enormously helpful and
contributed directly the effectiveness of our efforts. He is
indeed a master of the medium. The informational poster he recently
designed for us and the Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) is
typical of the artistry and professionalism which are the hallmark
of his efforts on our behalf.
2. Again, my
thanks to Mr. Cormier. He is an extrodinary talent, and his commitment
to service is exemplary.
