I designed this Logo for Auburn Community Television Channel 20 in Auburn, CA. This logo is displayed on the TV channel to Identify the Channel when on air.

I designed this Logo for new start-up business called Emarld Express Tours in Seattle, WA. The owner was extremely pleased with the simple clean design.

While working as a graphic designer at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA
one of the clients the base did radar repair for was the
California Highway Patrol. I re-created the gold badge you see above
from a black and white bitmap (above left). I began with CorelTRACE in
CorelDRAW 8 )which wasn't that great back then) and then did all
of the fine detail work piece-by-piece in CorelDRAW
and then added the depth in Corel Photo-PAINT. The CHP was blown
away by the authentic look of the badge. The Patch was also re-created
from a photo to vector.I used a plug-in for CorelDRAW X3 to create
the embroidery effect on the patch.

The image above shows two badges both taken from a boring B&W
Pixel Bitmap images to Colorful Vector images with lots of depth and
highlight. This was accomplished with the help of CorelTRACE 8,
CorelDRAW 8 and CorelPhotoPaint 8 and a lot of time and effort.

The majority of the elements within both badges that were not
picked up through CorelTRACE had to be hand drawn using the
powerful Bezier & Shape Tools within CorelDRAW's toolbox.

Above is a sample of some photo restoration I did on an old victorian photo.
I bought the photo at a Flea Market. I repaired all the belmishes in
Photo-PAINT then added color to it to bring the photo to life.
A good training exercise for sure.

Above are a couple CorelDRAW & Photo-PAINT training manual covers I designed
for manuals I used in my classes for earlier versions of CorelDRAW &
Photo-PAINT. These covers were designed in CorelDRAW & Photo-PAINT
exclusively to show what can be accomplished with the software package.

I have used my creative ability to design CDs that capture special events
such as the 80th Birthday celebration for my father-in-law. Above left is
a sample of the cover for the CD and on the right is a sample of the interface
used to navigate through the CD using Internet Explorer. Just as you
would a web site. A copy was sent to each person that had
attended the birthday celebration. My father-in-law was pleased.

I was asked to design designed a digital wedding invitation. My clients
had a clear idea of how they wanted the finished CD to look and it came
out beautiful. Above left is a sample of the cover for the CD and right is
a sample of the interface used to navigate through the CD using Internet
Explorer. Just as you would a web site.

They recipiants of the Invitations told my client how original the
concept was and how much the enjoyed navigating through the interactive
CD. My client wanted to do something to invite friends to their wedding
other that the traditional wedding invitation. The Digital Invitations
were a huge success.

I ended up producing over 300 copies of the digital wedding invitation
and the response from the individuals who received one of the invitations was overwhelming.

One year I took our entire family photo album and scanned in each and
every photo. I Ithen designed an interactive interface and placed all
the scanned photos on a CD. The CD was designed so that when the
CD was placed in a persons CD-ROM drive it would automatically
launch Windows Internet Explorer and the person viewing the CD could
navigate through all the photos just as they would while they
were viewing a web site.

I took our family photos that were fading memories and transformed
the into a Digital Scrapbook that will allow these memories to remain
ever present in our minds for the rest of our lives.
Let us build a Digital
Scrapbook for you to cherrish forever and to share with
family and friends.

I gave every member of my family a copy of the CD for Christmas that year.

This year I had the pleasure of designing two coins. The First Coin was custom designed for the Alameda, CA Elk's Lodge Chapter 1015 in honor of their 100th Anniversary. They had a total of 500 coins made and they were sold as a fund raiser for the lodge. The response to these coins was outstanding. Some of the coins were gold plated and made into necklaces for the ladies. Below is the obverse & reverse views of the finished coin.

The second coin I designed was for the Command Sergeant Major for the Air National Guard for the state of California. The Sergeant Major was so pleased with the coin he personally presented me with a final production coin at an Air Force Chiefs meeting I was attending in Sacramento, CA. Below is the obverse & reverse views of the finished coin.

Left is a sample of a Software Packaging design I came up with as an entry to a design challange on my on-line User Group a few years back. I was for a fictious Greeting Card Software program.

I would come up with a challenge every few months to see how far the members had come in their Skill Level.

I was impressed by the various design entries sent in by my members. We will be doing this again in my current On-Line Corel Users group called The CorelDRAW Zone. See the link on this site to find out more about the group and how to join.
